I am trying to draw something like this

enter image description here

but with a more fancy object, instead of a square, say a bunny or a human (whose silhouette's contour points I exported from an image). I know I need to make my question as general as possible to benefit other users. So here is my question:

How could I make the silhouette cone, say red cone, tracing around the shape of the object, rather than in this case where they look quite flat. Some thing looks like this

enter image description here,

where the silhouette cones contains the objects and looks 3D.

This probably needs PSTricks –  percusse Apr 21 '13 at 8:48

Transparency and some trace lines would be helpful. –  Toscho Apr 21 '13 at 10:37

As it stands with no code and a very tricky looking problem this is 'too broad'. I suspect the best answer is 'use a different tool': LaTeX is really not the best for complex drawing tasks. –  Joseph Wright Aug 14 '13 at 6:13
