How do I make the subtitle without the bold font?

\title{\bf{Progress Report }}

to set the font attributes for <element>:

\title{Progress Report}

By the way, \Large (and similars) are font switches, not commands with arguments. The title is boldfaced by default. \bf is obsolete; you should use \bfseries instead.

What is the difference between your solution and \subtitle{\Large\normalfont <element>} ? – Ludovic C. Jul 16 '13 at 15:05
@LudovicC. KOMA-Script (classes starting with scr) gives you this way to manipulate headings. And this worked for all headings. Your solution works only for that one you wrote (suppose you want to change \subsection or ...). – Kurt Jul 16 '13 at 15:59
