# Error in pdflatex for \usepackage[libertine]{newtxmath} [on hold]

I am trying to run pdflatex on the file

\documentclass[10pt]{amsart}
\usepackage{newtxtext}
\usepackage[libertine]{newtxmath}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}

Get finished with exit code 1, no pdf is generated.

If I try

\documentclass[10pt]{amsart}
\usepackage{libertine}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}

then there is no error at all.

So it must be some trouble with

\usepackage[libertine]{newtxmath}

I also tried running the first code with XELATEX. Here there was no error generated, but the pdf file had size 0.

Edit (added MWE from comment): A full MWE generating the error:

\documentclass[10pt, draft]{amsart}
\usepackage{newtxtext}
\usepackage[libertine]{newtxmath}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\begin{document}
hello
$123 = abc$
\end{document}

My system is this: SUSE 12.3, TEX:

This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.5-1.40.14 (TeX Live 2013/TeX Live for opensuse.org)

Any ideas?

If the code you posted above is the only thing in your .tex file it is not surprising the output is only 0 Bytes. Try an actual document like: \documentclass[10pt]{amsart} \usepackage{libertine} \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}\begin{document}Hello, World!\end{document} –  moewe Sep 5 at 12:12

to "2": of course this is only part of the preamble of the tex file! –  user36229 Sep 5 at 13:30
@user36229 You have a faulty TeX installation. The nxlmi font that blocks the compilation is a virtual font, but you seem to only have the .tfm file so causing the need for pdftex to try producing the bitmap because it can't figure out anything else. –  egreg Sep 5 at 14:07
This question appears to be off-topic because it is about a distribution specific problem or outdated software –  egreg yesterday
