How do I gradually colour the tower and the pipes, starting with a dark red at the bottom and ending with light yellow at the top?

The "easiest" way is to create a \pscustom path containing the entire tower+pipes structure and fill it using pst-slpe's slope fill.

Below I only show a portion of the custom path, leaving out some of the pipes. However, the procedure would be the same. Also, the fill is actually solid red, with a fading applied at a 90 degree angle:

You draw the fill first, and then overlay the rest of the construction as-is. The alignment along the side tubes are not 100% on, but that's because I don't fully understand where they're drawn within the mix of coordinates.

I've increased the number of steps used the define the slope colours.

Thank you. I have a couple of problems: Can I make you colour the top pipe and one of the other pipes? (Then I can definitely colour the rest... I assume.) Also, I would like the top of the tower to be yellow instead of white. –  Svend Tveskæg Dec 17 '13 at 17:12

@SvendTveskæg: I'll tackle and update this later... –  Werner Dec 17 '13 at 19:26

I have solved the first of the problems myself; now I 'only' need the yellow colour at the top of the tower instead of white. (P.S. I haven't tried to colour the owen ("Ovn") yet, so I might also need some help with it, but I think I can colour fill it myself.) –  Svend Tveskæg Dec 18 '13 at 3:20

Try using the following options for \pscustom: [linestyle=none,fillstyle=slope,slopebegin=red,slopeend=yellow,slopeangle=90]. Also, you'll have to set the sloping colour for "Ovn" before you do the red/yellow \pscustom fill. –  Werner Dec 18 '13 at 3:30

Thank you! I'll accept your answer now. (I hope you will help a bit more if I can't colourfill the owen and the pipe through it properly.) –  Svend Tveskæg Dec 18 '13 at 4:02
