TeX - LaTeX Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of TeX, LaTeX, ConTeXt, and related typesetting systems. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a working TeXStudio set-up under Windows 7, and I'm trying to create a similar set-up on a Mac.

In the Mac TeXStudio preferences, I configured the following commands:

/usr/texbin/pdflatex -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode -output-directory=./pdf/ %.tex

/usr/texbin/biber ./pdf/%

As can be seen above, I use an auxiliary ./pdf directory for the intermediate files.

Now, pdfLaTeX works without a problem, and biber also runs and it can find the .bcf file. But then biber dies with a "Cannot find" the .bib file error.

I checked the system paths and the directory permissions; the .bib file is in the local tree. The curious thing is: if I run biber from the command line in the .tex file directory, it can find the bib file and runs without a problem.

Can anyone enlighten me here?
