Just wondering is there a library within TikZ that allows easy(!) drawing of the line drawings used in Patent applications Patent Image (image from patent WO2011/062360 random image selected from random patent) I know this can be done in TikZ but mainly looking for the font used for numbering the arrows and the style of the arrows, some drawings will have the arrow as straight segments with a kink in it, some have a "hand drawn" numbers. I suppose the style is old-style drafting I learned in my 2nd level school (high-school) days.

It's not clear what you're asking. TikZ's default drawn paths are plain black lines so there's no question there... The number font seems to be a sans serif font – Seamus Jul 13 '11 at 9:40
Are you sure you have to draw this by yourself? I gave the patent agent normal drawings without those special numbers and he added them. Worked fine for my two patents. Or do you only want to get the look? – Martin Scharrer Jul 13 '11 at 9:41
@Martin I suppose it is only the look. Who is your patent agent?! I had to do all the drawings for my guy! @Seamus I know that TikZ can do it but I was looking mainly for the style and I suppose the "Stencil" type font that accompanies some of these patents, attached image probably not the best example. – Leeser Jul 13 '11 at 10:42

@Leeser: Two @username in one comment don't work. I did all drawings but the arrows and numbers got added by the patent agent of my University. – Martin Scharrer Jul 13 '11 at 10:47

@Leeser what aspects of the style specifically? At the moment the question is too broad: It's just saying "draw this for me". Make it a more specific question: "How can I can curly dashed lines in TikZ?" "How can I find what font is used here?"... (The first of these is in the excellent TikZ/pgf manual, the second has been asked on this site before). From the above picture it's not clear what you mean by "hand drawn" or "stencil"... – Seamus Jul 13 '11 at 11:08
