the last line is not shown

I'm having a problem while typing a report in LaTeX with "Version 0.4.0 r.759 (MiKTeX 2.9)". I open the file, and cannot scroll down to the end of the source code. It stops at the second-last headline \subsection{} in line 186, and I can see the first two pixels of the number "187" in the beginning of the next (empty) line. I do not see the \end{document}, etc. It is just lost.

Meanwhile, the document compiles to the complete .pdf, however. When I go to this last line and press "enter", I receive new empty lines that I can see, but I cannot see more of the original lines.

Can anybody help me with that?

What text editor are you using? – Seamus Dec 21 '11 at 16:39

It's important to understand the difference between TeX (in this case MiKTeX) and the editor that you're using to create a tex file for TeX to process. In this case, you could be using any of a number of editors to create that file, leading to Seamus' question. – Mark S. Everitt Dec 21 '11 at 16:42

It looks like you're using TeXworks. – Seamus Dec 21 '11 at 16:47

The version number is "Version 0.4.0 r.759 (MiKTeX 2.9)", and I just had the idea to update to "Version 0.4.3 r.858 (official)". Now it works. Thank you all for your patience! – Marie. P. Dec 21 '11 at 17:04
