  • For placing one picture beside the other, use one figure environment for both.
  • For captions and labels for each one of those pictures, you could use the subcaption package or the subfig package.
  • For making the pictures smaller, you could use \resizebox or scalebox of the graphicx package, or TikZ options, such as [scale=<factor>,transform shape].

If you could export your coordinate pairs as data sets to files, you could easily use the pgfplots package to get nice plots. For alignment as sub-figures you can alternatively use the subcaption package that is shipped with caption.
