For a variety of reasons, it looks like I need to use \psfragfig in place of \includegraphics. Provided I load all the necessary packages, is there any drawback to doing this? I understand from the psfrag manual that \psfragfig is based on \includegraphics. Does it retain all of its features; does \psfragfig add any limitations in what it can do or where it can be used? Or can I simply use it everywhere I would otherwise use \includegraphics?

\psfragfigis specific ofpstoolsfor usingpsfraginpdflatex. The question doesn't make much sense. – egreg Jun 10 '12 at 23:14\psfragfigwas required for the scenario there. In any case, the question is not about the reasons for using it, but about the relationship between the two commands. – raxacoricofallapatorius Jun 10 '12 at 23:32
