I am new to LaTeX. Can somebody please show me how to do APA referencing in LaTeX? I am using Texmaker and TexnicCenter. I guess I need basic help.

Welcome to TeX.SE. Your implied question -- "how do I cite publications according to APA guidelines?" -- is very broad and vague. Do you need help just with citation commands, or rather with how to organize the bibliographic entries for processing via either BibTeX or biblatex? If you search this cite for questions tagged "apa-style", you'll find plenty of cases. Searching for questions that are tagged with "bibtex", biblatex", and/or "bibliographies" will provide much additional information. – Mico Jun 11 '12 at 15:43
