Ok, its me again - so here is the problem: I wanted to use the mdframed package - and I had to upload all my packages what I did, so now I use the \newmdtheoremenv command and start running texworks (miktex). I was asked to install some packages and then I had to install the expl3.sty, but this could not be found, error message:

starting package maintenance...
installation directory: "C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9"
package repository: http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/ctan/systems/win32/miktex/tm/packages/
lightweight database digest: 472f1213b1fa1aa81e0aa960d3902b17
pdflatex.EXE: Unknown archive file size.
pdflatex.EXE: Data: expl3
======================================================================

! LaTeX Error: File `expl3.sty' not found.

Type X to quit or <RETURN> to proceed,
or enter new name. (Default extension: sty)

Enter file name:

Then I started the package manager and tried to install the package, but I got the following error message:

Unknown archive file size.

So, someone here said I should use the mdframed package and not the normal environment for my examples (shadethm), because I could get problems with page breaks and that is what I think too.

So could you help me?

Thanks a lot - this totally ruined my day, I have to write so much I this LaTex is delaying me with such idotic details ------ arg

ok, I think I have the solution: Just install another package: The l3kernel ones...... – Studentgerman Aug 17 '12 at 17:38

Does it work now? I think you have done the minimal installation of MikTeX. In this case you have to use the Package Manager to install missing packages. Sometime the installation on the fly fails. – Marco Daniel Aug 17 '12 at 18:22
