I'm using the software Mnemosyne which has latex support. I am using the command sloppypar to mix formulas with text. However, as after it encounters a subscripted variable in the text, every subsequent word has no spacing in between. It gets messed up by the subscripted variable. If I remove this variable, it seems to work fine.

Is there a fix for this? If not, is there a better command to mix formulas with text?

In the image attached, the top line is the command that I type in and the line at the bottom shows the output.

You should use $E_{0}$ and $E_{0}=E^{-1}$, because they are math formulas. It has nothing to do with \sloppypar. – egreg Nov 5 '12 at 11:11
