I'm utterly curious to know why some people still use TeX instead of full featured LaTeX?

Many questions here at SE are related to people trying to change default behavior from latex packages and finding that they need to use other packages to "fix" that. When you use plain TeX you make your own choices and never need to tweak things like this, for example. – Mafra Nov 17 '12 at 21:57
