As seen in this question I have probably run into a bug in memoir or the float package or well in their interaction. I think I want to report this as a memoir bug but I am not entirely sure. Where should a bug like this be reported and how?

I think the best thing to do is to contact the current maintainer, Lars Madsen, at the email address given in the readme file. – Jake Dec 12 '12 at 10:01
I don't know if I see the problem. Do you need to use float package at all? – Ipsen Dec 12 '12 at 10:32

Given that the maintainer of memoir Lars Madsen is user daleif here and answered your original question, I think you should regard the bug as reported. – Andrew Swann Dec 13 '12 at 9:49
Yea, he answered it after I created this question so I suppose you are right. – jonalv Dec 13 '12 at 10:30

In this particular case it seems asking here is enough. If that does not work I suppose a mail to Lars Madsen, at the email address given in the readme file would be the right way.

Just note that since we now use Exchange the +memoir part of my email has to be removed. – daleif Dec 13 '12 at 11:49
