Welcome to TeX.sx! A tip: If you indent lines by 4 spaces, they'll be marked as a code sample. You can also highlight the code and click the "code" button (with "{}" on it). – egreg Jan 11 '13 at 11:36
You probably have a corrupt installation, because the metric files for Symbol should be available. Try reinstalling the MiKTeX package psnfss with MiKTeX's package manager. – egreg Jan 11 '13 at 13:37
