I am running the latest x64 MikTex install on a Windows7-x64 machine. I use WinEdt7 as my front end. Yesterday, YAP started misbehaving. When I "Texify" anything, there are no errors but YAP freezes to the taskbar. In other words, the YAP Window will not maximize. What is going on? This happens no matter what. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling YAP to no avail.
Is there a way to use the dvi-viewer that comes bundled with TeXLive instead?
\documentclass) is an old, tried and true one, and your text is something simple, like "hello world", then a loop is unlikely. if that freezes your system, then i'd suspect the software. since you're using miktex, if you don't get a good answer here, there's a miktex mailing list where miktex-specific questions should get knowledgeable attention. – barbara beeton Jan 11 at 18:52
