I have been writing my text with using the siunit package, so far, along with amssymb and amsmath. But I have noticed that there is a package called siunitx and now I wonder if I change the package to siunitx, do I miss something from my document ?

Of course, after correcting the written codes according to siunitx package regulations.

It isn't clear what you are asking. Could you try to make your question clearer and more precise? – Seamus Jan 17 at 12:57
Not really. siunitx is pretty much a complete and well maintained package. See also this one : tex.stackexchange.com/questions/21936/… – percusse Jan 17 at 13:05

As you can read in l2tabu, chapter 2.2.10 you should change to siunitx package. – Kurt Jan 17 at 13:09

Welcome to TeX.sx! neither siunit nor siunitx has anything to do with amsmath, although as far as i know they can be used together. (they have different purposes.) and neither of these packages was developed at the ams. so i am removing amsmath from the tag list and the ams reference from the text, and modifying title. – barbara beeton Jan 17 at 13:28

@Kurt Goodness, I did not know I'd made l2tabu! – Joseph Wright Jan 17 at 13:38
