# Beamer text and image on the same slide

I am new to beamer and LaTex itself. Right now I want to make a simple slide with image on the right and text and sidebar (of Hannover theme) on the left. I cannot figure out how to do that.

Any suggestions?

Use the columns environment to divide the slide into two columns. Then use \includegraphics to insert your image:

\documentclass{beamer}
\usetheme{Hannover}
\begin{document}
\begin{frame}
\frametitle{A frame}
\begin{columns}[T]
\begin{column}{.5\textwidth}
\end{block}
\end{column}
\begin{column}{.5\textwidth}

I haven't tried it, did you forget to use graphicx.sty? – xport Jan 22 '11 at 15:11
@xport No, beamer loads graphicx. – Alan Munn Jan 22 '11 at 15:15
Just a general node: the block environments add a nice block, but are not technically required. I often go without them, but this is of course just a matter of style. – Martin Scharrer Jul 5 '11 at 7:25
