I just downloaded MacTeX and TeXmaker and I am trying to quickbuild my first document in TeXmaker but It says cannot find log file?

All of my settings are defaults. I am wondering how I need to setup everything to get MacTeX and TeXmaker to play nice together.

MacTeX installs the editor TeXshop. Can you compile with TeXshop? Can you compile from the terminal? – Kurt Jan 21 '13 at 10:45
I can compile when I use texworks or texshop. These came installed with mactex. However I wanted to use Texworks and was wondering why it wasn't working. I suspect I need to edit my paths or something. – sTr8_Struggin Jan 21 '13 at 16:26
i meant I wanted to use texmaker – sTr8_Struggin Jan 22 '13 at 2:07
I never used TeXmaker but in the manual, chapter 1 is described how you have to config the program. If TeXmaker is not recognizing (TeXnicCenter or WinEdT can this) were your tex distribution is installed you have to do it via main menu. Check the paths and follow chapter 1 ... – Kurt Jan 22 '13 at 18:51
