I have tried to install TeXnicCenter on a Windows 8, but keep on getting an error saying the setup file is corrupted. The same file works fine on a Windows 7 machine (both 64-bits). I tried to run on compatibility mode on W8 using both XP and W7 compatibility but got the same error. I also tried running as Administrator but no luck either. I'm not sure what to try next.

I guess my question is:

  1. Is there a way around this (i.e. is it possible to instal TXC on W8?)
  2. If not, does anyone have any idea if a version that supports W8 is in the works?

Do you know TeXmaker? – Sigur Feb 4 at 23:46
I have installed TeXmaker and TeXStudio. The thing is that I have been using TXC for years now and I really like it. – Romero Feb 5 at 0:20
I just found a workaround. I installed it on a flash drive using my W7 machine to see if I could use it off of the flash drive. It did work. I then copied it from the flash drive into my hard disk. So far I've tried to build a few different files and it seems to be working just fine. – Romero Feb 5 at 0:25
