# Koma-Script Error Message [closed]

I am writing my dissertation and using a template my supervisor has given. I have TeXworks installed with MiKTeX 2.9. Everything was working fine and a PDF was being created. After closing the program and reopening without making any changes I get the following error,

! LaTeX Error: File `scrreprt.cls' not found.

Type X to quit or <RETURN> to proceed,
or enter new name. (Default extension: cls)

Enter file name:

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

So I tried a simple script as follows,

\documentclass{article}

\begin{document}
Hello universe! $2 = \sqrt{4}$

\end{document}

And the error coming up is an unknown package, I have directed the MiKTeX to the directory, unless I have done this wrong?

Welcome to TeX.sx You can use the {} button in the edit window to format code entries. – Peter Jansson Feb 6 at 14:29
Welcome to TeX.sx! Please add a minimal working example (MWE) that illustrates your problem. It will be much easier for us to reproduce your situation and find out what the issue is when we see compilable code, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}. – Martin Schröder Feb 6 at 14:35
I guess you have updated your operating system or TeXworks or MiKTeX. With closing TeXworks the update works and something goes wrong. Reboot your computer and try again ... – Kurt Feb 6 at 16:22
