Which is recommended for use with journal submission within the United States?

Do you mean for journal submission? – Joseph Wright Feb 11 at 20:19

When the journal offers some template, that one should be used. Often the use of other packages is not even accepted. – Stephen Feb 12 at 21:19
@Kurt — I disagree with your closing of this question due to a "small geographic area." People worldwide may submit journal articles to those that are published within the United States. Furthermore, a large population of latex users are academics. This is not a narrow situation... – vrtcl1dvoshun Feb 27 at 19:20
@vrtcl1dvoshun Questions are closed as 'too localized' if we don't get feedback on them. Without more detail, it's impossible to answer the question: 'journal submission' is far too broad. Can you give a specific journal or publisher? – Joseph Wright Feb 27 at 20:24
@vrtcl1dvoshun Notice that the closure text shows many different explanations that are comprised in "too localized". The first one is "this question is unlikely to help any future visitors". Problem with the question in the current form is that it is not answerable. And quite obviously, question that cannot have an answer cannot help anybody. If you improve your question, it bumps up in the question list, and it might get reopened. – tohecz Feb 27 at 23:25

This question is unlikely to help any future visitors; it is only relevant to a small geographic area, a specific moment in time, or an extraordinarily narrow situation that is not generally applicable to the worldwide audience of the internet.
