I'm using LyX. I'm constructing many diagrams with arrows and I'd like to number them. I want the numbering inside the diagram. How can I do it without adding unnecessary rows and files?

Your question does not provide much details about your problems. By providing a Minimum Working Example (MWE) or an image of what you try to achieve, it will be easier to provide constructive feedback. – Peter Jansson Feb 15 at 18:08
I've been using just the matrix way to construct a diagram that Lyx provides. The only way I've got to do it was to add new rows and files. – Jorter Jorter Feb 15 at 18:16
In lyx you can display the latex code. there is a little check box for that in the bottom right i think. something like 'display source' or similar. we need to have at least some kind of understanding of what you are doing! best would be if you would construct a latex example outside of lyx – Martin H Feb 15 at 18:19
This is the code, (1), (2) and so on are the numbers I would like to get into the diagrams: \xymatrix{D\ar[dd]_{f_{1}}\ar[rr]^{\delta_{D}} & & D\otimes D\ar[rr]^{f_{1}\otimes f_{2}}\ar[dd]_{f_{1}\otimes f_{1}} & & C_{1}\otimes C_{2}\ar[dd]^{C_{1}\otimes\tau_{C_{2}}}\\ & (1) & & (2)\\C_{1}\ar[rr]_{\delta_{C_{1}}} & & C_{1}\otimes C_{1}\ar[rr]_{C_{1}\otimes\tau_{C_{1}}} & & C_{1}\otimes\top\ar@/^{5pc}/[llll]^{r}\\ & & (3)} – Jorter Jorter Feb 15 at 18:25
@JorterJorter If you insert your code in your question an indent it with four spaces it will show as LaTeX input. Please provide a stand-alone minimal working example of you entire LaTeX input file. – Marc van Dongen Feb 15 at 21:20
