I'm trying to install the longtable package on my Mac (OSX 10.7.5).

I have the TeXLive-2012 distribution (from http://www.tug.org/mactex/).

In the TeX Live Utility, I can't see the longtable package. Has the package been discontinued or replaced? Or is there a way to install it manually?

Please help, I've searched all over and found nothing! Many thanks in advance.

longtable is part of the core LaTeX 'tools' bundle: it should already be installed. (MacTeX as standard includes almost all 'free' TeX material in any case.) – Joseph Wright Feb 20 at 13:27
Thanks Joseph - the package is installed. The problem was that I'm also using arydshln which then no longer allows you to use \hline commands in table environments. I didn't recognise the error messages so thought that longtable was not installed. Thanks. – haazaard Feb 20 at 13:53
