Why a number 12345678901 produces an error "number too big", though the same number used directly with \@commaform does not ?

comment Can I use \begingroup \endgroup as delimiter of \detokenize, instead of {}?
I think filecontents packages is not suitable for me, because I need to do several things on my content before i \write it to the file.

comment Can I use \begingroup \endgroup as delimiter of \detokenize, instead of {}?
Yes, I will look at verbatim. But I want to \write the result of this grab into a file, and need therefore an "expandable verbatim", if it exists...

comment Can I use \begingroup \endgroup as delimiter of \detokenize, instead of {}?
ok, thanks for the info. But it does help for my problem, since I can't use \detokenize\bgroup stuff \egroup, because the end } is mandatory, if I understood correctly. Right ?

comment Can I use \begingroup \endgroup as delimiter of \detokenize, instead of {}?
because i would like to start the capture (\detokenize\begingroup) at some point, initiated by some command, and make it stop (\endgroup) in another command.

comment Can I have a curly brace as macro argument delimiter?

comment how to redefine the `\\` in a tabular environment?
Yes, you're right. Actually, i needed to redefine \\, not only in tabular, but generally speaking. The point is, i did not know i can do it simply with \def\\{new def}...

comment How to redefine commands and environments, and make them acceptable for `\write`
my guesses : (1) the name of the command is \mwx\temp, and therefore not accessible by a direct call. (2) without the \string, TeX will try to expand \temp inside the \csname and produce an error, since it does not exists. Am i right ?
