I think the tex.SE gods might ask you to provide a minimal working example :). If you can do that, I think some futzing around with the counter beamerpauses might solve your problem.

btw why is this not the correct behavior ? you're starting at 2, so transition 1 uses 2, t2 uses 3, t3 uses 4 and t4 uses 5. When you get to t5, your counter will be at 6. In other words, the multiinclude <+> designation is sharing the counter with the item<+> designation.

ah. I didn't think anyone used .eps any more :). If you have .eps files it's probably best to go that route.

Do you really want to do that, or merely use the PDFLaTeX option ? that's generally a better way to make a PDF while retaining all the features you want.
