comment Comprehensive list of TikZ style options?
Doh! I had it inside of a lemma on my end of things (which doesn't yet have any text, so I didn't notice it was italicizing everything). Edited the question and output accordingly. Though the specific problem is solved, the underlying question still remains.

revised Comprehensive list of TikZ style options?
The compiled output wasn't matching my MWE because my local copy was within a `lemma`. Oops. Slight rewording, since that somewhat changes the nature of the question.

comment Labeling precisely-positioned “tree” nodes
Great! An elegant solution! I take it the sloped and inner sep options in the individual \draw commands can be applied generally to every label?

@hpesoj626 I guess we disagree on the aesthetics, then. The new in and out values I've chosen work well for my purposes.

comment Suppress Fancy header and footer on first page only.
I found this trying to do the opposite, including the fancy header on the first page. I had no idea that \maketitle triggered a \thispagestyle{plain}! Good to know!

comment Misaligned month label in TikZ calendar
I suppose a "dirty fix" is better than no fix at all. Still leaves me with a bad taste, but hey... at least it works. I'm going to hold off on accepting this for another day or so in case anyone else can offer a more insightful solution. (But congrats on 100k!)

comment Misaligned month label in TikZ calendar
After some experimentation, it seems the value which "correctly" centers the label in this example is 7.9, but I still don't have any additional insight into what that value actually represents and why 7 doesn't work as it should.
