comment Package babel Error: Unknown option `francais'
Just a note: I encountered this issue with German, but texlive-lang-european did not resolve the issue. Only texlive-lang-german did.

comment List figures with \listoffigures but don't show the figures themselves
Well, they don't require me to use apa6, but they require me to implement the formatting used in this class. Unfortunately, in my field it's not customary for journals to provide their own TeX-classes (in fact, most manuscripts are written in Word), so I have to settle for DIY solutions. I agree, this is not desirable, though.

This looks good, but it doesn't quite work, yet. As evident from the MWE, I use the apa6 class that sets the options for endfloat to handle both figures and tables. Under these circumstances you solution has a side-effect: all tables are also omitted (I need the tables). I have updated my example to include a dummy table.

In principle, I'd be willing to do that but in practice I can't. I'm writing the manuscript with interspersed R-code that creates the figures/tables and their environments.

comment Antichronological ordering of references in moderncv using apacite
My bad, this worked in biblatex but the key-attribute is only used in citations in apacite.

Okay, I have found a way to get the sorting right manually with the use of the key-attribute in the bib-file. This will work for me since my list of publications is still managable.

comment Biblatex: Abbreviating authoring organisations in citations
Ah, thanks a lot. I was hoping there was something like this. I must have missed it in the documentation.

Ah, thanks for pointing this out. I followed the example in the apa6 documentation.

comment Centering tables in document class apa6
Thanks, Alan. I have edited my question because it seems it was unclear. Nonetheless, I've tried various options of the \captionsetup but none of them seems to do the trick.

comment Centering tables in document class apa6
Hi Mico, I use apa6 because besides from the tables it works smoothly and does everything I need. I edited my question because it appears it was unclar. I want the captions to be left justified. It is their position relative to the table that is off.

Hi Alan, thanks for the comment. I fixed my example and added a screenshot to clarify the problem.

Thanks, egreg. I added what I'm using sofar. I hope this is of use to someone else.
