comment Was anything in Satoshi Nakamoto's original Bitcoin paper compiled in LaTeX?
Both the formulas and the diagrams look like some standard office thingy, probably version before 2010 (makes sense after all). The sum and the cases bracket are Wordish, and the arrows in the diagrams are OpenOfficeish.

Ok, it seems I'm mistaken seriously. I'll re-think it. Thanks anyway.

comment How to use \@writefile without blocking a write stream?
Well, you have 16 write resources, if I understand things correctly. Maybe I'm mistaken by something, but I hoped to be able to write to file without the file being open during the whole document... This should save some of them, no? Also, I would be more convenient in case of errors, but that's a side effect for now.

Well, it need not be. I'm slightly worried about occupying resources, that's all

comment How can I break big footnotes using an automatic continued sign?
@jon Imagine the page break appears at a full stop. The reader than easily misses that the footnote continues on the next page. Or, when seeing the continuation of the footnote, he is easily confused about what the heck it is.

Please, have you read any LaTeX learning manual? I know it sounds strange, but such books are useful to avoid basic errors like this one. There is a good list of them: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/11
