ah ok. I'll edit it out.

comment mathjax \sqrt command
Well, since you ask how to do something in TeX, and not how to do it in MathJaX, I think it's on-topic. However, I don't understand what do you want: TeX makes the bar as a rectangle basically. Why should it matter?

comment How to calculate number of symbols in chapter heading?
Please, edit your question accordingly. You ask about "number of symbols" in the text, but you obviously want to colour the text in some strange way. There's no calcularion involved, only letter manipulation. If you make the question clear, the [on hold] label can be retracted.

@StrongBad Ok, then you can, of course, edit the second question, edit the answer accordingly, and close this one (I can't do it, since I have no clue as what's going on in biblatex).

Ah ok, then it's TeXLive :) The name TeTeX is quite abandoned, so it's usage quite confused me. Sorry for that.

This is not a duplicate! This one wants a comment as well, but at a diffent place!

comment Inline math overflow does not happen with minipages, but everywhere else
@StevenB.Segletes Usage of \sloppy is the last option (like usage of minipage, by the way). You can allow breaks at any place of the math (except inside groups) by \allowbreak command. The spaces in the first example are so huge!

@AaronDigulla Ok, then please tell me where did you installed tetex from, since that distro has been quite dead for years.

comment Tables extending into the right/outer margin
@Crissov that it should be done in a systematic way, and there is surely a question about it on the site. You can do \hsize\maxfloatwidth. But then you need to determine whether it's a recto or verso page, and on verso, it's much more complicated. Is that what you want? If so, please state it more clearly.
