This is exactly what David suggested in his comment ;) but it's not clear whether this is what the OP actually asks.

What @David says. Another option is \fontsize{0.1}{0.1}USA 100 USA 100 USA. If you don't give us more details on what do you want, I'm afraid we can't be more specific...

comment Big \sum instead of small \sum in array environment
"I would not use" is an understatement, the space of course ought not to be there.

comment Big \sum instead of small \sum in array environment
However, there have been presented other (and better and more proper) methods how to achieve this. The true problem here is actually misuse of array in place of gather or gathered. And anyways, \smashoperator isn't really necessary in this case, \displaystyle as Pieter suggests is better, but as I say, still highly suboptimal.

And how does it solve the problem of the OP?

comment Removing red boxes around references
\PassOptionsToPackage{draft}{hyperref} before \documentclass will remove them quite for sure, but it will remove all functionality of hyperref. For other solutions, use answers in what @egreg linked.

comment Upright Lowercase $\pi$ as Default
Yes, this example works and prints two upright pi's. Where's the problem?

comment Upright Lowercase $\pi$ as Default
Well, your example does not compile. You are missing amsmath package, and you use fonts that are not default in LaTeX. And I still don't understand your point, if I add amsmath and switch to xits-math.otf, I get the same symbol for \pi no matter what I try.

Hello, Could you please modify the example it such way that it includes the "wrong" pi as well, so that we see what exactly is the problem of yours?

comment bigfoot - Dimension too large (I can't work with sizes bigger than about 19 feet.)
This question appears to be off-topic because it is about a bug in a package that has been already fixed.

comment How to add an appendix to an article?
Welcome to TeX.SX! You can have a look at our starter guide to familiarize yourself further with our format. Your question appear to me to be quite basic. It is mentioned in most of the LaTeX guides here: What are good learning resources for a LaTeX beginner? You might consider reading one of them at least briefly.
