comment overlay latex output on top of VerbatimInput TEXT file
Thanks! Works perfectly, by doing this: \lstinputlisting[firstline=1,lastline=5]{file} comment \lstinputlisting[firstline=6,lastline=8]{file} If you make it an answer I'll accept it. comment

comment again, with a caveat, really wide table on one landscaped page
I was actually looking in the KOMA-script (ctan.math.ca/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/koma-script/doc/…) to try and find out how to set the size: paper=30in:8.5in . I also have never used tabu but this led me to use xtab package - tex.stackexchange.com/questions/12672/… . Of course this paper isn't for publishing, printing, or sharing :)

Yes, I did, and before I saw your last comment I got the accepted answer to work! Amazing! I'll try the one you suggest now. If you "answer" this officially I would greatfully accept it.

@cfr Do you mean to say there is a way to do this?

For anyone else interested in such a thing, I found that \attachfile[]{} works well, though you still need two separate .tex files.

Really!? That seems...so odd for such a powerful typesetting program. But if so, then I guess that's it, short of two files and \input{largepage.pdf}, which is unpleasant...

I have many pages actually...So would a \newpage have helped?

comment Typeset output from Maxima using input{}, specifically left justify
I used your example and the justification now works great! Thinking of incorporating breqn somehow... Should I clean up the question and re-title it to be relevant?

Oh, thanks for that mathindent comment - missed it. I see your point about the text becoming too small... I wonder if using breqn package should be incorporated...

Aaahhh, yeah I figured it was nearly pointless... also ridiculous to document but the boss wants what the boss wants ;) Maybe I should reword my question, for something useful, to say "How to incorporate tex from an input{} into a math environment?" This at least would be useful to others and I can try massaging these results myself in Maxima...

Are you saying that in general wrt Maxima, or this particular output?

comment footnotes referencing previous footnotes BUT using parnotes package
If I understand correctly ;) I would say yes. My document is not that long and in particular this foot/par-note need not have any fancy bells and whistles...

comment amsart with table of contents with “to” and “from” hyperlinks
My bad. Some of the upper preamble modified all the way to subsubsection, while the latter part didn't. I forgot this: % renew \subsubsection to link to the toc \titleformat{\subsubsection} {\normalfont\bf} {{\thesection} \hyperlink{tocsubsubsection.\thesubsubsection}{#1}} {1pc} {} right after line 199 of @AndrewSwann great answer. :)

comment multiline equation inside \newglossaryentry
Nice! Perfect! I was deep in glossaries.pdf trying to figure out ... something :) I hope to use your answer as a template to also tweak even more! Thanks for the Notes.

comment multiline equation inside \newglossaryentry
Okay, I did stumble upon glossariesbegin.pdf on mirrors.ibiblio.org mentioning other styles but didn't say how to create one. I'm not that advanced ;) Do you have a template or a link?

I see - I tried what you say and see that. Because I'll have many linkbacks to text from the glossary I kind of like the 3 column approach though... Any ideas?

comment multiline equation inside \newglossaryentry
Well I tried it with glossarystyle `super3col' and I have the same result. Are you suggesting I need to pick a different glossary style? Or two columns only?

comment An even more flexible derivative macro?
@Joseph Wright Very helpful!! A request (I couldn't get it to work), could one use the last argument as an optional point of evaluation, like \left|_{#9} \right. kind of thing?
