I am the author of the FontPro scripts for the support of Adobe Minion Pro, Myriad Pro and Cronos Pro in (pdf)latex as well as the MdSymbol package (math symbols to fit Myriad Pro).

comment MinionPro package semibold / medium fonts
With fullfamily (and medfamily), you get the semibold weight as standard bold in LaTeX. With \fontseries{eb} you can access the normal bold. The medium weight is used for smaller font sizes, which is done automatically. Currently, there is no way to directly access the medium weight.

comment Can't compile text file because of metafont?
Do you have the optical fonts (Caption, Regular, Subhead, Display)? I guess not. Remove the opticals option of the MinionPro package loading. Also I can recommend FontPro ;) but if everything works for you, you won't necessarily need it.

comment Change color in finished pdf file
If the pdf is to be edited, look for the rg (fill color) or the RG (line color) operator in the content stream in the case of RGB colors. The three numbers before the operand indicate the RGB values. For CMYK, the operators are called k or K, respectively, and the 4 CMYK color values precede them. (Was just in the same situation.)

comment How to install Myriad Pro on Windows 7 with TeX Live 2013?
With xetex or lualatex, the math support is limited without any further work, though.

comment Install FontPro (Minion & Myriad) with a different bash than Cygwin
You could also install a Linux distribution in a virtual machine and just copy the resulting files. (I doubt this saves any time compared to using Cygwin.)

comment MinionPro on Windows 7 does not have \epsilon
@per Please have a look at this guide. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you see it ;)), I don't use Windows and cannot give more detailed advice.

The problem is probably that you use a too recent font version not supported by the original MinionPro package.FontPro indeed solves this but needs you to use cygwin etc as you said. As a reward, the resulting MyriadPro packages fully supports math!

comment MyriadPro: Double dash not replaced by en dash
@dgs What is the source of your package? I'm sure mine is called MyriadPro and I cannot imagine how it would be renamed automatically.

comment MinionPro Number Styles: lining, tabular using pdfLaTeX
@Fabio Use \textbf instead of \bf (and define a custom environment that includes the figureversion command of your second example)

@Fabio You could write your own table environment which automatically sets the tabular figures.

comment MinionPro opticals lining figures
You might want to try the recent lcdf-typetools version 2.99. A bug has been fixed, which created a bad three.fitted glyph.
