elementwise division of two columns loaded from different files @ Christian: I have to agree that the makro is quite general and it helped me a lot! (again thanks to Jake). I edited my question, so maybe my problem gets a little bit clearer. |

Sum up rows from different data files thanks, that was exactly i was looking for. One little change: instead of the fixed tablename '\datatable' there has to be an link to the second argument of the macro. I fixed it and now it works perfectly!!! |

edit x-y data from different files/tables Do you have an idea how can I sum up all lines of an onecolumn file A.txt B.txt C.txt in order to get my y-data for my axis environment (in detail: y(1)=A(1)+B(1)+C(1)... etc.). The x-data are saved in a seperate file X.txt . |

Automatically set file name of externalized graphics equal to the file name of the tikz/PGF file @Jake: it would be nice if my inputfolders could change and only the name of the loaded .tikz file would be important for the filenmae of the externalized one. But the edit of the upper solution is one good step in the right direction :) |

Automatically set file name of externalized graphics equal to the file name of the tikz/PGF file @Jake: e.g i run my .tex document on the desktop. Furthermore i've a folder 'images_INP' and a folder 'images_OUT' also on the desktop. Now I want to load a .tikz file from the folder 'images_INP', compile the document and save the externalized pdf into 'images_OUT' I tired with: \newcommand{\includetikz}[1]{% \tikzsetnextfilename{#1}% \input{1-images_INP/#1.tikz}% } ... ... \begin{figure}[ht!] \centering \includetikz{1-images_INP/image1} \caption{so ein toller Würfel} \end{figure} but then i get: LaTeX Error: File `1-images_INP/1-images_INP/image1.tikz' not found. |

Automatically set file name of externalized graphics equal to the file name of the tikz/PGF file Great idea! BUT: I want to load from a subfolder 'images'. Therein are all my .tikz files. How can your command be modified to get it worked? (I don't want the whole path as filename of the externalized graphic, I yust want (as above) the name of the input-file as my externalized filename) |
