comment Problems using the “crop” package and printing cam options using LyX
The best approach then is a "bisect" approach. Delete half of your document, try to reproduce, if you cannot, then go back and delete the other half. Keep proceding until you get a minimal document. Note that "minimal" does not necessarily mean "small".

comment Problem with eulervm integral sign
LyX only loads the esint package if the user inserts a symbol that is associated with that package. For example, if a user inserts the symbol \ointctrclockwise, the package is loaded. I believe that LyX also prefers to use the esint package even for more simple integral signs, such as \int. I'm not sure why we do that.

revised Problem with eulervm integral sign
Add the LyX solution that the OP detailed in a comment. Preserve egreg's advice on Lyx.

comment LyX Install Not Recognizing Installed Spellcheck Dictionaries
It doesn't look like you're dumb at all. In fact, it would be nice if LyX somehow figured out the path on its own. I think we looked into that but apparently the libraries can be in many different places so it is difficult.

Do you have the correct path under Tools > Preferences > Paths for "Hunspell dictionaries" ? Note that this is working fine for me on Ubuntu.

Please always post a minimal example for this. You just wrote a little excerpt but it is not compilable. For more information, see wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/MinimalExample.

@DraganPrekrat you can accept answers, but the problem is that currently there is no answer. These are all just "comments". Let's wait a day or two and see if egreg feels like writing an answer. If not, you should write an answer. Although it probably sounds weird to you, it is completely acceptable for you to answer and accept your own answer. However, I think it is polite to wait a bit and let the person who posted the answer in the comments some time to write up the answer him/herself.

@DraganPrekrat note that if you meant for your comment to be sent to egreg, you should have used the @ sign followed by the user name.

@egreg want to make an answer and explanation, and add the LyX solution that Dragan described?

comment Using Lyx on Fedora 20: what does this error mean?
@daemondave As Torbjørn asked for, please provide a minimal example .lyx file (it is just a text file). For more information, see wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/MinimalExample

comment Section numbering does not comply. I am using Lyx, Document class 'Report (standard class)'. Please help
@EllaJay Thank you for your attempt. However, this is not a minimal example. It seems actually quite complicated to me, with ERT all over the place and a complicated LaTeX preamble. The link I gave above discusses how to create a minimal example, and why it is important.

comment Splitting pdf file pages from middle of each page into two pages
what do you mean by "from middle" ? From middle of the page? or middle of file? Can you give a specific example, such as "I would like to put pages 1 through 5 in one file, and 6 through 13 in another file" ? I am going to suggest you use pdftk

@Ariel OK, thanks to Ariel and Alan for the advice. We will look into implementing more proper support in LyX.

Can you confirm that when you say "are not needed when using these packages", that \beginL and \endL are never useful when using the polyglossia package? From what I understand, polyglossia is smart and knows that e.g. Hebrew should be RTL so it is not necessary to say it explicitly. I guess that babel is not as smart and that is why it is necessary with babel?

@AlanMunn Ah yes thanks for the correction. OK this is good to know.

Thanks Ariel. Let's see if I understand this (I'm new to RTL and bidi) --- The reason why we input it LTR into LaTeX is because that is what we "mean". That is, we mean that 1 should be in "row 1" and 2 should be in "row 2". When we compile, "row 1" is determined to start from the right because it is RTL. Is that the correct intuition?

@AlanMunn I see. We're trying to figure out what code LyX should ideally produce. Imagine a GUI where you have a table that is marked as Hebrew (so the GUI knows it should be RTL). The user puts 2 in the left column and 1 in the right column, and thus the output should be the same. What is the best way to get that output? One way is to produce the same LaTeX as above but just flip the entries 2 and 1 in the LaTeX code. However, I wonder if there is better code that could be produced.
