comment Table title not appearing in PNAS
Using \RequirePackage{siunitx} before the \documentclass{...} works better but then the space between the cells in the table gets squashed

@ChristianHupfer the problem then becomes that the style is wrong as well as the placement of the table. There is definitely something in siunitx that the class doesn't like. The caption package also gives you a warning about incompatible class.

comment Trouble with commas in subscript of chemical formula (using mhchem)
You should always specify the version when loading mhchem. in this case, using the original code when specifying version=4 the commas appear in the text but as normal text not subscripts.

comment How to convert a RGB color code to rgb color code?
really not related to TeX, but a bit of algebra might help: rgb=rgb255/255 ? otherwise you should be able to define the colour with \definecolor{lbx}{RGB}{r,g,b} with values between between 0 and 255.

comment Comment out sections of text in bib file
@JacobAkkerboom no but the question was about biber/biblatex. I never claimed that this solution would work with bibtex.

comment Convert LaTeX fonts to TTF fonts for use in Adobe Illustrator
BeraSans should be a type1 version of Bitstream Vera Sans so you should be able to get this one in TTF.

comment Anomaly in cyrillic letters of TeX Gyre font sets with LuaLaTex
as fas as I can tell, the glyphs have been removed from the font entirely. I do not know why you can access them by loading the filename, because I can't. As I said in the answer, I suspect you have a version of the font that gets accessed when you call the font name and a different one when you call the file name. The logs should be able to tell you if this is the case

comment How do I open PDF in Adobe Reader DC without locking the file from being updated by pdflatex?
I don't think it is a viewer issue but rather a Windows issue as Adobe Reader doesn't lock the files on either Mac or Linux.

comment Copy math equation in Mathtype
A silly question maybe but why do you want to use the $...$ syntax instead of the \[...\]' or (...)` ones. For the preference you have chosen, mathtype is correct and the $...$ is a TeX syntax, not a LaTeX one. If you are writing your document in LaTeX (as opposed to plain TeX, you should keep what Mathtype gives you. Otherwise there seem to be a Plain TeX export option. All that behing say, @arne is right, and you should probably take the time to learn how to write equations in (La)TeX directly. It will be a lot faster and a lot more flexible.

thanks for the correction @moewe, I always forget about this. I knew it wasn't the .tex but I never actually use the extensions when invoking the commands

how do you compile your document? you need to do pdflatex>biber>pdflatex>pdflatex. the biber part is what creates your blb from the call in the document. every time you add a citation in your document you need to redo the whole thing
