comment How can I reverse the positions of two (unequal width) columns so that the wider one is always against the inner margin?
Not sure what to say, @theobear. It is the lag of time, not money, that keeps me from working on this. I could issue another bounty for the problem, but last time that did not help either. (Is there no way to exchange private messages on stackexchange other than via your website?)

@theobar - sorry, I have not forgotten about this, but there was simply no time yet. I am surprised that nobody else here helped you so far.

@Speravir - I was not aware of pdfcolparcolumns. Do you think it this package could help to solve @theobear's problem?

@theobear - sorry for the late response. Except for answering this question, I have never used parcolumns myself. So I forgot everything about it by now. Currently, I have no time to dive into it again, but I can have a look at the problem end of next week.

comment Thumbnails of other frames in beamer
@William - seems like your edits were rejected, as they apparently changed too much of the original answer. Please feel free to post your extension as a separate answer on this page (or I can look at your suggestions later and include them myself).

Thank you @William! I think that is a very good extension and can be useful for others.

@William 1) would not require much tweaking, but 2) will be difficult because the package is loaded before beamer. Right now I am pretty busy, but I think the selective frame display would be a good addition. I will have a look into this once I have some spare time available.

comment Beamer: How to place graphics at the bottom of a frame
First, the code is still not compilable; there is no \begin{document} for starters (and obviously the images will be missing). Apart from that, I think you are looking for \frame[b]{...}, which will vertically align the frame content at the bottom. I personally use the frame environment: \begin{frame}[b] ... \end{frame}. Finally, the graphicx package is already loaded by beamer, so no need for \usepackage{graphicx}.

comment Editor with Word like “word completion” feature
See LaTeX Editors/IDEs for a long list. I would assume that most editors support word completion. Emacs/AUCTeX definitely does.

comment Different margin on first page
Or is it maybe possible to re-typeset the part of the paragraph that did not fit on the first page? It must be in some box that we should be able to modify? Overall I see that this is getting more complicated than expected...
