Scaling down all the equations using one single command? I'm using IEEEtran. Trying to see if I can come up with a MWE... |

Scaling down all the equations using one single command? It still has the same problem. See here for example: imgur.com/o4NRo |

Scaling down all the equations using one single command? Thanks, @Gonzalo. It perfectly shrinks the math size, but in some paragraphs, the regular text appears to be squeezed. Like the space between lines is reduced. If I disable those extra commands, it looks just right again. Any idea? |

Changing the binary operator for tick scale labels Thanks, @Jake. I had a hard time updating pgfplots, as I am using the generic texlive package that comes with Ubuntu distribution. It turns out that some packages available in Ubuntu repositories are outdated and since Ubuntu does not support tlmgr, I had to follow some alternate procedure to have packages updated. Anyways, everything is now working great. Thanks for your help. |

Changing the binary operator for tick scale labels @Jake: It says: Package: pgfplots 2009/02/14 Version 1.2.2. Let me check to see if there are updates available. |

Draft mode for pgfplots Sweet! I also tried the answer marked as accepted but failed to work it out. I think this answer is cleaner, easier to use/understand and it works, indeed! |

Overlapping lines get thicker in TikZ Sure. As far as I realized from comments, this is apparently a problem related to how the document is rendered and the results vary from system to system. Therefore, I do not believe if there exists any general remedy for it. Again, thanks for your kind input. |

Overlapping lines get thicker in TikZ Thanks, @morbusg. This works, indeed. However, it is not always this easy to avoid overlapping lines. In more complicated structures, it is a real headache to segment lines in series, e.g. having lots of shapes with common borders, etc. Anyways, I would not be much concerned about this as long as the printout looks pretty. |

Overlapping lines get thicker in TikZ @RyanReich: True. I did not mean to bash Linux in any ways in my previous comment. In fact, I am a big fan of it and that is exactly why I am using it. However, for some reason (may be related to my graphics driver?!), I do not get the correct picture even with 400% zoom. |
