I'm a computer scientist who is mainly intersted in data management, programming-language theory, and distributed systems. I have great appreciation for applications of CS theory and Mathematics in practical problems, especially if they use logics, functional programming, or probability theory. My hobbies are music, photography, and cooking.

How productive are you with TikZ? Instantly seeing the drawing you are typing is indeed very nice and productive, even for professional TikZers. Too bas it's windows-only. |

How productive are you with TikZ? Thank you for the excellent answer, Andrew! (nice pun btw) Now let me ask you a small follow-up (ok maybe two). The advantages you described apply to "diagram programming" in general. Besides the TeX integration, is there any reason why TikZ is most productive in particular? Also, are the concepts of diagram programming common to all such tools, to the point where a TikZ user could rapidly switch to another one if need be? |
