Never mind, doing itemindent=0em seems to have fixed it. Thanks for a brilliant answer!

There is one problem with this. I was wondering whether you could fix that in your solution. This is the problem: Try making the text in each item be long enough to be not just one line. You'll see that subsequent lines are aligned in a very weird way in each item.

@daleif thanks, that worked.

This works, expect for one problem: For some reasons, this solution causes the section number (e.g. "1.1") to move down a bit, and it makes "1.1." a bit below "section", compared to the baseline. Why would this be happening?

Is there a way to get these plots to look more like in the METAPOST solution of DJP? (With black curves throughout the surface, and dotted lines on the axis-planes.)

@egreg I've decided to just tweak things around (say by adding -1em if needed to some dimensions) to make this work for me. One final question: If the main font of the document is 11pt, do you know how I can make the font inside the box 10pt?

That's weird. This is my output: cl.ly/1L1k151M0R1W0243081Q I wonder why I get a different output than you do.

I still get an unwanted space after the last line in the box: cl.ly/0D0l1N3Z450I0S1K2S2X/texprob.tex
