Hi, I'm Scott, pleasure to meet you.

comment Expl variable assignments not behaving as I expect
@A.Ellett I don't feel slighted, all is good, I asked out of curiosity! Joseph, Sorry to clutter your question, I probably should have asked on chat or somewhere, but thanks for indulging me.

The asker seems convinced that my answer is incorrect, if that's the case (aside from using the word string when I maybe shouldn't have etc.) I wouldn't mind knowing what I've misunderstood!

That might not be necessary, check whether my edit works for you.

Again, I'm not sure the issue is because -NoValue- is becoming stringified...it's because \controlsequence isn't being replaced by it's contents. I have a fix for you.

Why not use \NewDocumentCommand{\makeversions}{ sO{;}mm }?

n type arguments (for the most part) are passed as is, there's no expansion or replacement. So you're asking whether the sting \controlsequence is equal to -NoValue-. Can you use an optional with default value ;?

Fair enough, I could be wrong. How do you interpret \cs_new_eq:NN \IfNoValueT \__xparse_if_no_value:nT?

In that case add \cs_generate_variant:Nn \seq_set_split:Nnn {NVV} and use that in your set split with just the macro names, no braces (which works for me).

Your IfNoValue code isn't executing. Probably (maybe), that code is written to taken an n type argument and can't deal with being passed a macro.

Oops, just saw that the answers in the question I linked were all TiKz, which you said you used...my bad. Good that Torbjorn had you covered.

Hmm, it seems tricky (i.e. beyond me) to do what you want, but maybe it's easier than I think. The wizards may be able to help. Good luck!

Have you thought of giving the statements of the Lemmas in the body of the document, and deferring the proofs to an appendix? That way you get the numbering that you like, and the reader has easy access to the statements rather than having to find them in an appendix. (this may be the same suggestion that vonbrand made) What sort of document is it?

Svend: I didn't say that's what you were doing, only that at some point it will start to appear that way. I tried to make that clear in the comment.

Maybe I phrased my comment poorly, I'm sorry if it offended you.

No need for name calling, you mentioned that you didn't understand the close votes (none of which were me) so I gave my take on it. I'm not sure what you find ignorant about that.

You've asked at least a dozen of these, all with the same boilerplate commentary. At some point, people will start to doubt the sincerity of the questions (i.e do you want to learn how to improve the code yourself, or do you just want someone else to do it for you). It looks like you're getting close to that point. I'm not expressing an opinion one way or the other, just rationalizing the close votes if you're confused by them.
