LaTeX Editors/IDEs Sorry to hear that @BandGap! Given that I'm on a WinXP install currently at work I can share your pain, but I can also sympathise with the devs for not supporting an EOL'd platform. I'll let you know if I have any luck getting it to work on my work computer. |

Use of Chinese numers similar to \Roman and \Arabic @Qrrbrbirlbel, I've marked as correct since the documenation says that should work (my chinese is passable), however I'm getting the error for out of date l3kernel l3packages. I'm going to update to texlive2012 soon and I'll update this accordingly. |

Use of Chinese numers similar to \Roman and \Arabic Sorry @Qrrbrbirlbel, an MWE is a bit hard to extract at this point (working on a custom class), but I'm using fonts via \usepackage{xeCJK}
\setCJKmainfont{DFKai-SB}. I hope this answers your question. |

Getting floating objects in multicol environments I know this is old, but either A) is there a replacement now (a year on), or B) could you mention some of those other projects? Cheers! |

LaTeX Editors/IDEs @deshmukh, that's an unfortunate response from them. If you ever get an answer please feel free to share, since I love vim and wish everyone could use it for LaTeX. |

LaTeX Editors/IDEs @deshmukh, fair enough, forgot about that when I was thinking about it. I'm sorry, this sort of problem is outside the scope of my abilities. You might ask on askubuntu.com |

LaTeX Editors/IDEs @deshmukh, okay, I was curious and tried testing this with some devangari text I found online. I've experienced two problems, under konsole I see only question marks, under gnome the glyphs are set at the wrong width. The first sounds like a font problem, the second I'm not sure how to resolve, but it seems like a gnome-terminal problem. I don't have devangari fonts installed other than what is already provided. My apologies. |
