comment View specific pdf version from git repository with linux application
A PDF that is generated from a latex file is the same as a class, jar, exe or other file that is compiled from source. It should not be under version control in the first place. Every time you compile the PDF, it will be marked as changed, even if the latex file hasn't, due to time stamps, etc. If you want to see a specific version of the document, checkout that version's revision and compile it.

comment tufte document classes break with multiple authors
@HarishKumar Indeed, especially if you can shed light on whether that's by design or just an omission, but I'll accept it as an answer either way unless someone else has more information

comment Shortening margin citations in tufte class
I cleared all the fields I could think of, but I still get a margin note citation of the form Author. In: (Year). Any idea how to get rid of the In: and the dots after author and year?

comment Setting up TexMaker on Ubuntu “biblatex.sty not found.”
If you only want to use biber occasionally, or want to reserve your QuickBuild shortcut for something else, you can also define it as a user command by going to User->User Commands->Edit User Commands and assigning the same sequence to one of the five user commands. It will then be available via the respective shortcut or in the left of the two dropdown boxes in the main toolbar.

comment Why does loading pgfplots after tikz break the default layers in a tikzpicture?
@josteinb Thanks, I had upgraded in the meantime, which indeed solved the problem, but forgot to accept the answer. Fixed now.

comment How to make BibTeX concatenate sub-strings in the same entry
@JosephWright That is, unfortunately, the way IEEE formats bibtex references to their own papers. I'm guessing it's a result of being able to easier index the conference alphabetically. I usually change them manually whenever I copy one of their entries into my bib files.

comment How to quote correctly with csquotes?
I'm traveling at the moment, so i can't test it myself but I'd imagine that's just a case of setting up natbib or the csquotes cite command via \SetCiteCommand

comment How to quote correctly with csquotes?
For referenced quotes, csquotes has the \blockcquote command. Your example should result in the same output if you changed it to \blockcquote[109]{key}{Some interesting quote}. Note that you just have to provide the citation key without a \cite command and that it is a mandatory argument. Any optional arguments to \cite are carried over to the \blockcquote command.
