comment Changing the font size in a table
Dredging up the past... @Mico, I don't see this behaviour at all. None of my captions (specified with \caption) are affected in any way with a fontsize declaration before them inside a table environment.

comment Referencing to “above” or “below”?
@Marnix, conversely I suspect that one reason many prefer latex to word is precisely because they can write code like this to do just about anything, whereas in word it has to be a 'feature'.

new, updated figure with "Let" beside tabular.

Have just realised that if I change the width of the tabular using something like 0.6\textwidth then the "Let" keyword is set beside the tabular. However it's centred vertically, so not sure whether I like that or the version posted above.

I found a way, and perhaps I should add it as an answer as it's a little too long for here. Essentially I used the \SetKwInput command to create a new input "verb", and had it print "Let". That then allowed me to wrap the tabular inside it and avoid that entire section being numbered (as the input section is not a numbered section). I also tried the same with the data section using \SetKwData--it had similar but not optimal results.

Gah! I tried, and gave up. The docs are just too difficult to interpret.

comment Macros like \TitleOfAlgo not recognised in algorithm2e v5.0
@egreg Yes Ubuntu 12.04. I have TeX Live 2012 manually installed, but I just checked and found that indeed TeX Live 2009 is also installed via package manager :( I can't recall if there was a good reason for this situation, but it's possible that v2009 was installed as a dependency of something else and I let it slip through. which tex tells me v2012, but not sure why TeXWorks gets confused?
