If she is not the technical person, then I would really suggest LaTeX over conTeXt. 1) Community behind LaTeX is much bigger; 2) Documentation of LaTeX is much more complete.

OK, range-pages 's pages-range was a typo. But again setting min-range-length does also typeset a range for "Zweimalig" while makeindex does not. So I don't want a range here. Please read the bullet point list where I describe how I want a single index and an index-range to be treated differently!

I want *exactly* the same behaviour as makeindex has it regarding the pagerange.

Yupp, but than also "Zweimalig" is displayed as "1–2" which I explicitely consider as wrong!

comment How to display proper ranges in index using Xindy and XeLaTeX?
OK, this helped me a lot. But how can I find more modules on my system? page-ranges displays a 2 page entry as on page “1, 2”, which is wrong. It should be “1–2”. “1,2” suggests independent 2 occurences, while “1–2” implies a long text that spans 2 pages. Is there a module that does know exact this difference?

Hmph… If KOMA is so deeply involved in everything, I think I have to go through that discussion right again, especially since I just found out, that there is scrbase and scrhack in the \listfiles of the official thesis template :) Thanks for the hint!

But it depends on scrbase, which is forbidden at my university as part of KOMA-script. I really don't know why, and I won't start a discussion about that topic, many have tried before and all have lost.

Thank you, translations seems to do it job very well since it does not depend on global options or koma-stuff (even if I primarily use KOMA, there might be persons or institutions who/which decline to use it, as my university does)
