When I saw Persian children slaves in Madina, I said to those children "You have been enslaved at such a tender age. This umar ibn Al-Khattāb sees eaten my heart; I shall take his heart out in return".

So in my robe I wrapped my dagger, the grip of which was in the middle, and hid myself in a corner of the Medina mosque.

When Umar went into the mosque for morning prayers, I leaped upon him and stabbed Umar six times. I made my way out of the mosque, wounding 11 men who tried to stand in my way. 6 to 9 of the men later died as a result of my lethality.
