I guess by "cycle" you mean a "loop". I also guess you are using some drawing program. How you store coordinates will depend very much on which program you are using. Please post more information, preferably containing a small document with your set-up, cf. minimal working example (MWE)

comment Fill space created by \phantom with other text
@Bernd the second argument is l (ell) for left alignment. Without it the text is centered, so in this zero width case sticks out to both sides of the current position, overlapping the previous text, which is not what you asked for.

Footnotes don't work directly in tables. See tex.stackexchange.com/q/35615/15925 for solutions.

With the posted code that change does not make a difference to the links.

You need to post more code to show us how you are citing and how you are making footnotes. A direct \cite{website:nico} works correctly for me.

You need an appropriate .bst file so that the generated .bbl file has \bibitems in the format \bibitem[\protect\citeauthoryear{Knuth}{Knuth}{1973b}]{inbook-minimal}... The \citeauthoryear then contains the information that those citation commands extract and print. The style file you are using is derived from an acm class that pairs with acmtrans.bst.

Which bst file do they instruct you to use. The commands work with acmtrans.bst but that is more like the alpha style than plain.

The style file provides commands such as \shortciteA* for just producing the list of authors.
