comment Vertical alignment text first column with merged cells and last column
Thanks for the links. The -15pt was a manual choice.

comment microtype: Protrusion not affecting unnumbered section titles
@cfr \chapter is defined in book not article and the definition is via \secdef, rather than \@startsection for \section etc.

comment Visual table of contents (tikz mindmap) - Problem in output
The examples in the etoc manual have some hand setting of toc depths for each part. Have you tried to mimic that?

comment pgfplotstable and _{some text} or ^{such text} in an string type column
Indeed my solution above avoids have to change the input data, but avoids multiple string replaces in your situation.

comment Problem with the header/ footer width
Welcome to TeX - LaTeX! \fancyheadoffset{0pt} is simpler still. However, the best thing to do is simply to load the geometry package before calling \pagestyle{fancy} as in lockstep's answer.

comment Option argument for Beamer section slide
Throwing your code into a minimal document produces no errors for me. Can you post code that demonstrates the problem. Preferably in a form that can be cut and pasted for testing. The current coding you have can be simply placed in the preamble section of a beamer latex file.

comment Indenting suddenly stops after first subsection
Your code snippet shows a \` after the display. If you use \` intending to start a new paragraph, then you do not get an indent; \` only makes a line break and is nearly never needed in standard running text. The correct way to start a new paragraph is to leave a blank line in the .tex` file. See tex.stackexchange.com/q/82664/15925

Welcome to TeX - LaTeX! Have you set \parindent at some point? Please update with code that demonstrates the problem.

comment Spacing around \cdot
Why not just make the widened \cdot an ord here? Then it would be in the same category as x.

comment Brackets not tall enough with smallmatrix from amsmath
@Mico Thanks for the alternative. Macros maybe useful, but I suspect the required rules are going to change with different types of content in the matrix. I find the \rule syntax in this case more obscure than \vrule.

comment Brackets not tall enough with smallmatrix from amsmath
@MartinLauridsen For the final row you want a strut with depth rather than height, see my comment at the bottom of the answer. I'll update this with a tested value in a moment.

comment How to change labels of references to letters?
@SayOL That is a standard problem with hyperref and modifications to the bibliography commands. A work around is to load hyperref with implicit=false, but then many hyperlinks are simply not created. Otherwise one has to write commands that are modelled on hyperref's versions of \@bibitem and \@biblabel.

comment how to draw shift operations and rotation of digital electronics in latex
Welcome to TeX.SX. Questions about how to draw specific graphics that just post an image of the desired result are really not reasonable questions to ask on the site. Please post a minimal compilable document showing that you've tried to produce the image and then people will be happy to help you with any specific problems you may have. See minimal working example (MWE) for what needs to go into such a document. You might start by looking at the tikz package and its documentation.

comment Error: “Undefined control sequence” in \includegraphics, height
Welcome to TeX.SX! \lineheight is not defined by default. Perhaps you want \baselineskip instead.
