comment PSTricks rotation driven by auto-pst-pdf
For some reason unknown to me, this one didn't work on my system. It may work on a Windows platform newer than Xp, though.

That made it. Furthermore, you nailed the problem I was having with passing that parameter to ps2pdf through the auto-pst-pdf key-value system.

@cyanide-basedfood: That's fixed automatically in the auto-pst-pdf processing. Nonetheless, I have changed it to \psframe*(0,0)(2,1) inside a \begin{pspicture}(-9,-9)(9,9) and the problem remains.

I haven't tried because I need the crop facility that auto-pst-pdf "embeds".

comment TikZ and auto-pst-pdf break Ghostscript
@AndreasHäusler: Well, I've been fighting with this for several days and I was about to ask a question right before I saw your OP. It took me a long time to figure out something was not quite right with the latest tikz.

@egreg: Fine! The weird thing is that I had not had such a problem in the past. Could you possibly turn your comment into an answer?

@egreg: Thus, I guess what you get is actually a replication of the issue I depict in my post.

comment Strange “Too many files” error with pdfTeX
@egreg: Right. In my system the error is somewhat concealed within the scope for the auto-pst-pdf messages. The document is compiled and the auto-pst-pdf files are created until pdfcrop is to come in. The error appears at that stage. There is no final pdf file with the cropped picture and the latter is not embedded in the document. That's what I get. I have just installed an updated version of Ghostscript but the problem remains the same.
