@Ryan: Ok, I was inadvertently using \intertext outside of its environment. Then I had problems because it seems that adding white lines between equations is not a good idea when you are using the align environment. Now, it compiles! But... it doesn't totally work, I will update my question in a few minutes with my results. Stay tuned! ;)

For some reason I still have to find, \intertext is not working on my real code.
