comment Is there a way to get the Skype logo in the cvtheme document class?
@giannis: In that case either try the second method or wait for an update.

@giannis: have you tried installing Font Awesome as a system font?

comment Problem using adobe sourcesanspro
If you extracted the package to ~/texmf you might want to try running updmap --enable Map=SourceSansPro.map (as yourself).

comment What are the most common mistakes that beginners of (La)TeX and Friends make?
@egreg: Maybe add an example of what the proper use of \left and \right is (and an example of typical misuse).

comment Simplest way to typeset entire document in sans serif (Helvetica)
@alfC: some packages (eg: sourcesanspro, cabin) provide an option. The LaTeX Font Catalogue will show this in the code example for most (but not all) packages.

comment How to install “vanilla” TeXLive on Debian or Ubuntu?
@Rasoul: there is a difference between Ubuntu packages (from the Ubuntu repository) and CTAN packages (from CTAN). The latter is what you want. The Ubuntu texlive-publishers package can't be installed because you are running vanilla TeX Live. But as texlive-publishers is actually a collection of CTAN packages you can install those (if they haven't been installed already). If you have issues, please ask me in the chat to avoid extended discussion in the comments.

@Rasoul: most CTAN packages included in texlive-publishers (list) are installed with texlive. Missing CTAN packages can be installed trough the TeX Live Manager.

comment Tex for Mathematical Operator which Looks Like a Y
I'd like to add that this is a mathematical capital upsilon. The regular capital upsilon looks exactly like the capital Y (which is why the mathematical capital upsilon is written this way). People familiar with the Greek alphabet (but unfamiliar with this mathematical variant) would probably try to find it in a different alphabet.

comment Linux Libertine package and fonts not working anymore (fall 2012)
@TomZych: The Libertine package has been under quite some development after this answer was written. If I have some spare time I'll see if I can update it or create yet another Q&A about Libertine.

@user15662: Cabin was added quite recently. Make sure your TeX distribution is up-to-date.

comment Bembo, Bembo Book or Garamond Premier Pro? And how to exploit all their features with LuaLaTex?
@NilsL I completely agree that choosing a good typeface is more than just taste. However, when one has to choose between several good fonts (and I would qualify Bembo Book and Garamond Premier Pro as such) it does come down to taste. Just like in dressing: once one has selected a socially acceptable outfit (eg: jeans and a t-shirt) one can decide the details based on taste (the color/print of/on the shirt). This doesn't mean I dismiss any of the ideas contained in your answer (it's a great), but the question stated the choice was limited between the Bembo and AGPP.

comment Problem using a LaTeX template for writing thesis
@Ahmad: \typeout simply displays a message while running the file. As for the \ifx line: this either includes all files or just one file depending on the value of \files. If you want to be able to change the included files you should leave it there.

Your example seems to run fine for me (XeLaTeX, MacTeX 2012). Can you explain what exactly "doesn't work"?

@masfenix: TeXworks is not installed by TeX Live, you need to install it through the software center.

comment menukeys with LinuxLibertine/Biolinum
Also works fine for me. If you have an up to date TeX install you could try to use the libertine package (it loads the OpenType fonts for you and provides a recent version of Libertine/Biolinum).

I assume you've already tried installing through the official backports PPA. Also see "How do I install the latest TeX Live 2012?".
